Our Members Learn to Surf! Thanks to the IndoJax Surf School, our members enjoyed learning how to surf on Wrightsville Beach!  They also learned about ocean safety, and many of them were able to stand up on their surfboards, even though they had never surfed before!  Click here for photos!

Congratulations to Jennifer Lofton, our Youth of the Year 2007-08, who was recently inducted into the National Honor Society at UNCW Watson School of Education (6/27/09). She was able to attend classes at UNCW thanks to her participation in the Isaac Bear Early College Program, which is available because of the collaborative efforts of the CBGCW working in direct conjunction with Isaac Bear to get minority students engaged in their future.

On April 25th, Hands On Wilmington and many of our Wonderful Volunteers Renovated the Club
This Saturday, April 25, Hands On Wilmington is coming to help us redo parts of the Club! Come help us update the Club (painting, putting up shelves, putting in countertops & fixing the fence) from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. this Saturday. This not only benefits the Club, but it benefits every child that walks in the door. Please let me know if you'd like to help us on our way to better facilities for our youth!  You can also find out more about Hands On Wilmington at HandsOnWilmington.org.

On April 22nd, we were honored to have the "Green Industry Philanthropists" makeover the front of our Club!
A fresh coat of paint on the front entry doors, pressure washed and colorfully painted sidewalks, and beautiful landscaping greeted Club members when they arrived at the Club after school let out. Ian Johnston of Johnston Architecture, and a board member of the Community Boys & Girls Club, organized a front entry makeover by the “Green Industry Philanthropists.” Tracy McCullen and his crew from Landscapes Unique are donating time and resources to add landscaping flair to the Club, R.A.G.S Ruth Arnold Graphics & Signs is painting the entry and applying a Community Boys & Girls Club decal to the front door, and Gardner Wealty Concrete Company is pressure washing and painting the sidewalk.
